Sustainable Development: The 6 SDGs implemented by BSC so far.
Fundamental changes happen when we realize that we are the ones capable of creating them. Living in a world that suffers from COVID-19, inequality between genders, basic human rights violation, the consequences of war, it is our duty to try to make it better. No matter where we come from, what we do for a living, we all want to live in a healthy and blooming environment and it’s proven that our actions now are creating consequences for our future, and that is why it is crucial to take measures today in supporting and creating a better world for everyone. Here is how we, the Business Support Center as a company are doing our pact in achieving the target of making the world a better place for everyone.
Underlining the importance of implementing the SDG’s (Sustainable Development Goals) in Armenia, the BSC Business Support Center promoted and successfully applied number of SDGs in most of its projects. Such as the goal number 4th “Quality Education” where the aim is to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”, the goal number 5th “Gender Equality” where to “achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls” is the main focus.
By implementing the most projects for people from rural areas of Armenia and people from Artsakh, BSC is determined to accomplish the number 1 “No Poverty” goal, which embodies the “end poverty in all its forms everywhere” statement as well as number 10th “Reduced Inequalities” goal to “reduce inequality within and among countries”, to create equal opportunities for everyone.
The global partnership has been the core fundament in all services provided by BSC. The 17th goal “Partnerships for Goals” emphasizes on partnerships for sustainable development. Moreover, to achieve the targets set by the SDG’s, partnerships are necessary in all their forms and configurations.
Highlighting the meaning of quality education, we can state that thanks to the efforts of our company, many entrepreneurs got the chance to develop their business plans and start-up projects. Many individuals due to the knowledge gained from the training courses entered the labor market. Hence, comes the implementation of the goal number 8th “Decent Work and Economic Growth”. The above-mentioned actions are making the BSC’s impact, in its scope of carried out activities and projects, especially significant in fulfilling the 2030 Agenda.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, are an urgent call to reduce poverty, to provide peace and well-being for people, to protect the environment and the planet. The seventeen goals with their 169 targets seek to improve the living conditions and conservation of the environment especially in developing countries. Although, there are still challenges remain in achieving the SDGs throughout the world, every single act matters.
